How many 4th graders can say they've been recognized by a Super Bowl Champion?  Well, Dianne Parrish's students can say just that.  They have been recognized by Super Bowl Champion, Malcolm Mitchell of the New England Patriots.  Malcolm Mitchell is not only a Super Bowl Champion but also a children's author!  According to his website, READ WITH MALCOLM "is a youth literacy initiative founded in 2015 by former University of Georgia wide-receiver and current New England Patriots rookie,  Malcolm Mitchell.  The mission of Read with Malcolm is to transform the lives of young students through literacy. The organization’s goals are to introduce book ownership to students in households where reading is not a priority and to improve literacy in schools with below grade-level reading skills."

Mrs. Parrish's class was recognized for their tremendous improvement in their reading and writing after Kim McAllister (Parapro) submitted a letter to his foundation.   Mrs. Parrish, a huge Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs fan, read Malcolm's first book, "The Magician's Hat" to her class and discussed his struggles, determination and spirit and how it has helped him succeed.  Sharing his life story gave these students inspiration to improve their own reading.  To read the full story, go to Read with Malcolm and check out our Woodville Wildcats and how choosing excellence every day catches the attention of a Super Bowl Champion!
